COMMUNITY GRANT AWARDED TO WOODVALE FIRE BRIGADE
1 Dec 11
Hi folks,
Just to let the community know that the Woodvale Fire Brigade submitted a grant applications to COGB in the 2011 round of the "Community Grants", this was to assist in the cost of the production and publishing a historical book to celebrate their 80th anniversary. This application has been successful, and a grant of $1000 from the Community Grants of COGB has been awarded for this project.
As you can appreciate, each grant submission is assessed on it's individual merits by COGB, and we are in competition with the whole of the Greater Bendigo region for the money that was available for this year. The award ceremony was held on Monday 1/12/2011 at the Bendigo town hall, and John Riley attended to receive the award on behalf of the Woodvale Fire Brigade.
The community awards were presented by our Mayor, Cllr. Rod Fyffe at a "Presentation Evening", which was held at the town hall.
There were many presentations to groups representing a number of different aspects of activities in the region.
A light supper was provided by COGB after the presentations for all to enjoy.
Congratulations and a "big thank you" to the Woodvale Fire Brigade, for their continued efforts in maintaining a safe community, for the benefitof us all here in Woodvale.
