Raywood/Sebastian Pipeline Project.

Gary's role as a member of the water services committee on behalf of the Woodvale Community, is to relate progress and relevant issues back to the Woodvale Progress Association on matters that may benefit and effect the community in relation to this project. These will be tabled at the Quarterly Woodvale Progress Association meetings, and this website:

May 2011 Update

The recent meeting held in May 2011, have indicated the the project timeline has slipped again.

As previously reported the construction component of the project was split into two phases. Stage 1 being the Northern end of the pipeline, and Stage 2 being the Southern end.

The North section (Stage 1) is almost complete, however the construction of the Southern end (Stage 2) cannot commence due to still outstanding approvals, believed to be flora and fauna issues.

Coliban Water are confident that outstanding approvals are imminent, and when pressed, admitted that it would be unlikely that the project would be completed until the end of 2011, subject to receipt of said approvals. This would mean a further slippage of 9 months, the first delay proffered a completion of "first quarter 2011)

The project will include elevated tank work and installations at Raywood and Sebastian respectively, in addition to the pipeline itself.

Although a preferred route has now been chosen, (pending final approvals and further discussion), it will potentially bound the East side of the Woodvale community, (Raywood Road), thereby with the possibility of offering a future potential of supply to some in the Woodvale area.

Benefits of the project to the Woodvale community specifically, would provide the potential of future connection to this "backbone" pipeline. Coliban Water have a commitment to continue supply to their rural customers, probably via this new pipeline, however this would be a seperate project and subject to future viability studies, resourcing and community involvement. However, as the project unfolds we will update you through the mechanisms identified below.

The next meeting for the Water Services Committee has been advised will be next month.

Gary will be reporting and communicating any further updates and progress regarding the pipeline project, in this community website : http://www.woodvale.vic.au/ , in addition through the Secretary of the Progress Association, So Watch This Space !!
