WOODVALE COMMUNITY HALL BURGLED

8/3/2021

When the committee of management met last night at the hall to perform a working bee in preparation for a hiring to the Bendigo Gold Prospectors Club (an annual repeat hiring), we found that the hall had been broken into, the back door and metal security cupboards had been jemmied and a number of items stolen.

The principal thefts are both of the portable audio systems and speakers along with radio/bluetooth mics etc which are valued at a couple of thousand each. The latest one was only kindly donated to us by a generous benefactor only a month ago to augment our original unit which we purchased several years ago for use by the community,

It would appear that the thieves have also taken our flags which we use for our flagpole and Anzac Ceremonies (which in 2019 attracted 250 visitors for our service and breakfast).. so this is a sad blow.

Last but not least...believe it or not....when they broke into the garage and jemmied the cupboard there .....they took all our stock of toilet rolls for the hall !!!! Shades of Covid perhaps... ?

The Police Forensic unit attended and reports taken.
