Recreation Reserve Works 2010

Project Completion Report:  June 2011

As was previously published on this site, a number of works were being conducted at the Recreation Reserve on behalf of the community residents by the Recreation Reserve Committee of Management (COM).

The following report of works that were undertaken was supplied by the Secretary of the Recreation Reserve Committee of Management, Kerry Errington.

                                            Report

In July 2010 the Woodvale Recreation Reserve and Woodvale Tennis club received a small town’s grant from the COGB of $5615.00.

The grant enabled a number of projects to be carried out, which included repainting of two courts and the purchase of new nets.

All three courts now have new surfaces, and the recent provision of a concrete apron and path now provides improved access for elderly and persons with a disability.

The final stage of the project will include the installation of bollards and drainage completed.

The works cannot occur without the hard work of some wonderful volunteers in our community.

The major items funded were very labor intensive.  The work was a large undertaking over 15 separate working days involving teams of two to six persons.

A special thanks to all who contributed their time and labor and the COGB for making the funds possible to enable these projects to be achievable.

The 2011 small towns grants has seen the Recreation Reserve successfully apply for a grant of $8082 to purchase and install AFL and Soccer goal posts and nets.  The installation and purchase of these posts will be completed within the next 12 months.
